Toby Price Joins Transmoto 6-Hour
In spite of a hectic international racing schedule, Toby Price has confirmed he’ll be racing the Transmoto 6-Hour at Conondale on October 15-16. Yewww!
How does the idea of a sharing a beer, campfire yarn and racetrack with reigning Dakar Rally champ, Toby Price, sound? Well, if you’ve signed up for the Transmoto 6-Hour at Conondale on October 15-16, it’s going to sound pretty damn good because Australia’s winningest enduro and desert racer has just confirmed that he’ll be riding Transmoto’s inaugural Queensland-based event.
“Toby will be back from the Moroccan round of the World Cross-Country Rallies Championship just in time for the 6-Hour at Conondale,” Toby’s good mate and manager, Matty Macalpine, told Transmoto. “After he rode the Transmoto 12-Hour back in 2014, he’s always raved about how much fun he had there. So as a birthday present for Tobes, I decided to nominate him as one of my teammates for Conondale. That Green Park venue is epic, and we know you guys run events with great tracks and a cool atmosphere, so we’re really looking forward to being part of it,” Macalpine went on to say.
Rather than pitting out of a customary big-rig with fellow factory riders and a horde of doting mechanics, Pricey and his teammates will get the same modest 12x3m area as everyone else at Conondale. And while Price is not at the event in any official capacity; the super-approachable 28-year-old is always up for meeting fellow dirt bike addicts and sharing a few stories.
So, if you’re yet to enter the Transmoto 6-Hour at Conondale, there’s yet another good reason to get on board. But with only limited Ironman, Pairs and Team-of-Three entries still available, you’ll need to get in quick.
The news of Toby Price’s attendance at Conondale prompted us to reflect on that 2014 edition of the Transmoto 12-Hour, which was Price’s first race after being sidelined for much of the previous year with a serious neck injury. Click here to check out the feature we ran about that 2014 12-Hour. And, as we mentioned in the feature, how fitting it was that an image of Toby Price – from Transmoto’s first ever magazine cover in 2010 – appeared on the event’s official T-shirt that year.
