Welcome to Transmoto‘s 2016 July-August issue (#57) – the first of our all-new, free-to-view digital magazines … or ‘FlipMag’, as we like to call it.
For this issue, we head overseas for our first taste of KTM’s and Husqvarna’s all-new and revolutionary 2017 enduro machines. We also sample Kawasaki’s much-improved quarter-litre MXer, and head to the hills to get a feel for Ducati’s super-sophisticated new Multistrada 1200 Enduro – the Italians’ first foray into the off-road scene. On the race front, WEM’s Kevin Williams reflects on 20 years of promoting the MX Nats, and we join Motology Films’ Adam Riemann and Louis Calvin for their Hattah Desert Race campaign. From events of a slightly less competitive nature, we bring you profiles on a dozen colourful characters at the inaugural Dargo-based Transmoto 8-hour, and immerse ourselves in Conondale’s nostalgia-filled festival of filth that’s known as Classic Dirt. Plus, we check in with the itinerant Aussie filmmaking duo, Ken and Amanda West, as they near completion of their third feature-length, multi-discipline moto film, RIDE: United. Oh, and as a favour to your health insurer, we showcase the major kneebraces on the market to help you figure out which brand is best suited to you.
To get the most out of this FlipMag, don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s simply a digital version of the previously printed magazine. Cos it’s much more than that. In the features, you’ll now find integrated hyperlinks that take you directly to related video content, interviews and/or in-depth product information. And for all the advertising pages, you’re only an embedded link-click away from product catalogues, videos and/or special deals. In publishing speak, we refer to this as an “elevated experience” for clients and customers. Between friends, though, let’s just say it offers you damn good value for (no) money.
With Transmoto‘s focus now revolving around the production and delivery of even better digital content, and running more of our hugely popular events, we’re really excited about the opportunities that lie ahead in the constantly evolving world of digital publishing.
