Clout signs two-year American deal
MAD Racing Dirt Candy Suzuki, powered by Yoshimura, has announced the official signing of Luke Clout. After his breakthrough debut ride at Anaheim 2, Clout has earned himself a full-time spot on the team to compete for two years in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series and Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship aboard the #492 RM-Z250.
Clout, the 2014 Australian MX Nationals MX2 champion, was originally slated to be a no more than a substitute rider for the injured Daniel Baker. However, following his impressive 14th place finish during his first appearance on the 250SX scene in the United States, it was clear right away that Clout had something unique to add to the MAD Racing stable.
Joining teammates Baker and Matt Bisceglia, Luke has signed a two-year contract extending through the length of two full supercross and outdoor seasons. “We are excited about having Luke join the team,” said management. “With his first week results we look forward to the rest of the West Coast 250SX series and are working to get him completely comfortable on the RM-Z250.”
Following on from Luke’s Australian racing departure, Wade Hunter and Wilson Todd have been signed by Clout’s former team, Serco Yamaha. Clout’s 2015 teammate, Jed Beaton, has been signed by DPH Motorsports Yamaha (who Wade raced for last year).
