VIDEO: MILNER BACK IN FORM
Last season, Daniel “Doogs” Milner was the toast of the off-road town. Riding for CDR Yamaha, young Victorian took up his third A4DE win, claimed the coveted AORC Outright title and was, for the second year in a row, one of Australia’s standout performers at the ISDE. It’s little wonder the bloke was snapped up by Yamaha USA’s premier off-road race team, N-Fab AmPro Yamaha’s.
But season 2015 has been anything but smooth sailing for the Doogs in America. Aside from the difficulties associated with adjusting to a new country, team and race series, Milner has been battling health problems and niggling injuries, and had a rotten run of luck in the first half of the GNCC series.
But his rejuvenating trip back to Oz for a few weeks seems to have done just the trick. When Milner returned to the States to race the Indiana round of the fast-growing Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro Series, he promptly won the thing; against a high-calibre field, too. In fact, Milner managed to beat FMF/KTM’s Kailub Russell – the reigning and two-time GNCC champ, who’s won an incredible eight of the GNCC’s nine rounds so far this year. After two intense days’ racing, Milner bettered Russell by just 2.6 seconds, but what it win it was!
