2023 GASGAS: TECHNICAL ACCESSORIES
When the KTM group purchased GASGAS a few years back, we all knew that the Spanish-born brand would soon share the engine, frame and WP suspension components already used by the KTMs and Husqvarnas that also roll off KTM’s Austrian production line. But when the first rebooted Gassers arrived in early 2021, many were surprised by just how many different components were fitted to the GASGAS machines compared with their orange and white counterparts.
For 2023, that brand divergence continues. GASGAS’s 2023 MX models don’t get the new-gen upgrades that have been introduced to KTM’s and Husky’s 2023 MXers. And based on our first look at the 2023 GASGAS enduro range last week, it’s apparent that that component spec differential remains across the EC and EC-F models as well.
This is entirely consistent with the KTM group’s philosophy that GASGAS – their “third brand” – is a fun and approachable launch pad into the performance off-road motorcycle world, and that the bikes’ different component spec would allow them to sell the things cheaper than their KTM and Husky counterparts. Fewer bells and whistles, lower price tags. And no one forcing you to pay for accessories you may not want when you buy your bike from a dealer.
The flipside to this, of course, is that a cheaper purchase price leaves a chunk of change in your pocket, which you can always use to customise your bike by judiciously buying performance and/or protective parts (and/or a bit of bling!). And that’s exactly why GASGAS has worked hard to expand what’s now on offer through their Technical Accessories catalogue. It’s got everything from wheels to exhaust systems, and triple clamps to hand guards along with a heap of riding apparel designed specifically for enduro, and cross-country riding and racing. Check it out.
