🎥 2019 AMA Motocross: Rd 7 Highlights

7 years ago | Photos: Jeff Kardas/MX Sports Pro Racing

American Motocross’ own Independence Day tradition brought the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship to one of its most iconic venues for the seventh round of the 2019 season. Michigan’s legendary RedBud MX celebrated the 4th of July by kicking off the second half of the world’s most prestigious off-road motorcycle racing series with the Circle K RedBud National. The storied track produced heated competition across both classes, with Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac and Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing’s Dylan Ferrandis claiming victory.
Tomac’s third win of the season further strengthened his hold on the championship lead in the 450 Class. One year after he endured a misfortune-plagued afternoon at RedBud, the reigning champ returned in search of redemption and successfully grabbed his second victory in three years at the track. He’s now more than 30 points clear of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Marvin Musquin in the standings.

Dylan Ferrandis had been knocking on the door of his first win of the 250 Class season for several weeks, and he finally broke through with a dominant outing at RedBud. The Frenchman put forth the first 1-1 outing of the season in the division, which resulted in the third victory of his career. It marked the fifth RedBud victory for Star Yamaha in the past six seasons, and the win also moved Ferrandis into second in the 250 Class standings.

Watch how it all went down at RedBud…
