100,000 Ducati Scramblers On Planet Earth!?
Ducati’s insanely successful side hustle, ‘The Land of Joy’ (or the “Scrambler”, as we know ’em), has just hit one rather massive milestone: worldwide sales of 100,000 units! Or in Ducati parlance, “100,000 Scrambler Ducati have been delivered to the fun-loving motorcyclists who value self-expression and freedom that make up the Scrambler Ducati community”.
In any case, it’s a huge achievement for a bike some thought quite out of character for the Ducati brand. In a short seven years, the rebirthing of the Italian company’s 60-year-old icon has become one of the biggest success stories of the modern era of Ducati.
Since its arrival on the market, the Duc Scrambler has been a benchmark for the scrambler genre in both styling and performance. So, to celebrate its 60th anniversary this year, Ducati has gone back through all the unique models that have made up the modern Scrambler Ducati product line in this very slick vid.
While the Desert Sled has our heart, the appeal of an 1100 Scrambler does have some legs. On a side note, we’re kinda bummed we missed the Italy-based exhibition dedicated to the Ducati Scrambler – a physical journey divided into five areas related to the value of the motorbike: Design, Lifestyle, Customisation, Exploration and Self-Expression. It was all in the name of showcasing the Ducati Scrambler of the ’60s and ’70s, alongside that of the generation born in 2014, up to the present day. But then again, Bologna is a fair hike! So, if you’ve got quarter of an hour to indulge in the nostalgia of the OG Scrambler, hit play below on Scrambler Gamblers – The Movie…
