WHO IS TOM DRANE?

Tom Drane recently gained attention as a young dirt tracker from Forbes in NSW. At the age of 17, he emerged victorious in Round 7 of the AMA Flat Track Championships, held at the Sacramento Mile event last weekend. Drane has been residing in the United States since the beginning of this year, competing in the singles class on a highly modified YZ450F bike for the Estenson Team, which receives support from Yamaha.

Currently, he holds the seventh position in the championship standings. Prior to this, Drane had been participating in the Australian Road Race Championships (ASBK) in Australia. It was during his involvement in the ASBK that he received an invitation to compete in a dirt track event in the US.

Impressed by his performance, the Estenson Yamaha team signed him for the 2023 season, and since then he has been adapting to the new environment. Yamaha Australia has also provided support to Tom, supplying him with a 2023 YZ450F for training purposes before his departure to the US. With his recent triumph at the Sacramento Mile, Tom’s confidence is soaring. Watch out for this young Aussie as he makes waves in the USA!
