TANTI RETURNS TO RACING AT TOOWOOMBA
It was a welcome return to racing for Monster Energy CDR Yamaha’s, Aaron Tanti, who strapped on the race boots for the first time in 2025 at the penultimate Round 7 of the Australian ProMX Championship. Tanti suffered a serious neck injury in a practice crash at the start of the year that saw him bedridden and in a halo for two months. After hours of rehab, he was given the all-clear just four weeks ago and decided Toowoomba ProMX would be the venue for his return.

And, the racing gods didn’t want to make it easy on him. 30mm of rain on Wednesday, then another 30mm of rain on Saturday night had the track a wet and heavy to start the day, then rutted and technical, when racing rolled around.
The goal for Tanti wasn’t to set the track on fire and grab a race win. It was about getting some race time under his belt, getting used to the intensity of racing and building a base for his comeback. Tanti finished with 7-7 results to take seventh overall and showed he still had some speed with a fifth in Superpole.
Aaron Tanti:
“It’s good to be back at the track. I have been riding for about a month now, so my expectations were pretty low, I just needed to get through the weekend safely, get some race laps in work on getting myself back to 100%. It wasn’t an easy track to come back to as it was Toowoomba at its best. Finding a track like that to
train on is impossible, so I was a bit tentative in some situations but that will get better as I do more racing. I get another chance this weekend at QMP and looking forward to keep getting better with each ride.”
This weekend sees the final round of the 2025 Penrite ProMX championship at Queensland Moto
Park. The Yamaha team will enter the weekend with riders still in the running for some championship podiums. Ryder Kingsford sits second in the MX2 division with a handy 26-point gap over third place, with the championship already decided with Brodie Connolly.
Both Beaton and Woods still have a chance of landing on the podium despite missing some rounds, with Beaton currently in third and 40 points clear of Wilson Todd in fourth. Woods is in a similar predicament taking a 32-point gap over the rider in fourth. Madi Simpson needs to make up 10 points on the rider ahead of her to make the podium in the WMX class or 17 points to finish second.
