INSIDE THE VENUE: TUMUT
After an epic weekend getaway that blends big elevation, epic bushland and a proper road trip? The 2026 Transmoto 8-Hour at Tumut, NSW, powered by GASGAS Australia delivers on all three. Set on a picturesque 1200-acre private property just out of town in NSW’s Riverina region, this venue is nestled into the northwest foothills of the Snowy Mountains, with huge tracts of bushland and grasstrack framed by some next-level views.
Here’s the full lowdown on this year’s Transmoto 8-Hour at Tumut…

HISTORY:
The first Transmoto event at this venue was staged in 2022, and it’s run annually ever since – as a 10-Hour for its first three years before switching to an 8-Hour in 2025. Which means 2026 marks the fifth consecutive running of the event at Tumut.

LOCATION:
Tumut is situated in NSW’s Riverina region, with the event taking place just out of town on a stunning 1200-acre private property in the northwest foothills of the Snowy Mountains. It’s just two-to-three hours drive from Canberra, Albury-Wodonga, Cooma and Narrandera, and a little over four hours from Sydney.

TERRAIN:
With vast stretches of bushland and grasstrack, plus sweeping views across the foothills, this venue is a genuine riding paradise. What makes Tumut infamous, though, is its dramatic elevation change – almost 600m from top to bottom of the loop – creating some of the most technical and physically demanding sections of the 8-Hour calendar.

THE REGION:
Off the bike, the region hits just as hard with fly fishing, kayaking, local vineyards and breweries, and the iconic Snowy Valleys Way winding through rolling farmland – and all of that is within a road-trip radius of Canberra, Albury-Wodonga, Cooma, Narrandera and Sydney.
