CHRISTIAN CRAIG BEGINS RECOVERY AFTER GLENDALE SUPERCROSS CRASH

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider, Christian Craig, is on the road to recovery after a nasty crash at the 12th round of the 2023 AMA Supercross Championship in Glendale, Arizona. Craig, who was riding the FC 450 Rockstar Edition, had a major crash during practice, resulting in a dislocated hip and elbow, as well as a broken arm that ended his 450SX campaign for the season.

Doctors were able to reposition Craig’s hip and shoulder at the hospital, but he will need surgery for his arm fracture. It is still unclear when he will be back on his bike, with the upcoming Pro Motocross series marking the second part of the inaugural SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX).

“Unfortunately, I had a practice crash early in the first practice in Arizona. I ended up dislocating my hip and elbow. The doctors at the hospital were able to put them back in place, but I ended up breaking my arm too, which requires surgery. I’m beyond bummed to end my season this way, but I’m trying to stay positive and be ready to go when I’m healed!” Craig explained,

It’s a real disappointment for Craig, the 250SX Western Regional Champion from last year, who had been performing well in recent weeks. Before the incident, he recorded a best Main Event finish of sixth at Round 10 in Detroit and won his Heat Race in Seattle. Craig was in eighth position in the standings before the Glendale race, but his current focus is on his recovery and getting back to full health as soon as possible.
