FIRST LOOK: 2025 GASGAS MX RANGE

1 month ago | Words: Matt Bernard | Photos: GASGAS

One year after launching a completely new generation of motocross and cross-country bikes, GASGAS has once again elevated the excitement with a refreshed line-up, including two new two-stroke models for the Australian market, (NZ misses out) in 2025. This latest offering brings the GASGAS range in line with the latest released models from KTM and Husqvarna.

GASGAS’s 2025 line-up includes significant upgrades across its existing models, featuring revised frames, motor mounts, swingarms, suspension settings, and linkages. These enhancements aim to deliver an even more exhilarating riding experience. The updated models will be available at GASGAS dealers from August 2024 for motocross bikes and from October 2024 for cross country bikes.

Responding to popular demand, GASGAS has introduced the MC150 and MC300 to its motocross range. The MC150, building on the foundation of the beloved MC125, offers increased power and torque, setting a new benchmark for small capacity dirt bikes. The MC300, based on the versatile MC250, boasts a highly desirable torque curve that will captivate two-stroke enthusiasts.

The 2025 models benefit from engineering tweaks that enhance performance and handling. By removing material around the upper shock mount and reducing frame thickness at the front, GASGAS has saved 300 grams while improving handling, particularly in corners, without compromising straight-line stability. New engine mounts refine frame flex characteristics, while revised suspension settings complement these changes for a superior riding experience.

Additional upgrades include a stronger air intake sleeve to maintain maximum airflow, a more durable swingarm with a hard-wearing chain slider, and new low-friction SKF seals in the linkage to optimise WP rear shock performance. A smaller linkage bolt further reduces weight and contributes to the updated chassis’ refined flex characteristics.

The cross-country models incorporate all the aforementioned updates and feature exclusive components tailored for cross country riding. These include an 18” rear wheel with a DUNLOP AT81 tyre, paired with a DUNLOP MX33 tyre on the front, a convenient side stand, and for four-stroke models, a new PANKL transmission with ratios specifically developed for cross country riding.

GASGAS’s 2025 motocross models will be available in authorised dealerships across Australia and New Zealand from August 2024, with the cross country range following in October 2024. It is important to note that the MC 150 and MC 300 motocross models will not be available in New Zealand.
