Transmoto 8-Hour @ Bright: On Sale Soon
Entries for the inaugural Transmoto 8-Hour at Bright, powered by Husqvarna, will go on sale late next week, with priority entry open 48 hours beforehand** (see below for details). So round up your mates, dust off your camping gear, get your bike and body and roadtrip plans in order, and clear your schedule for the last weekend of April (April 28-29).
You’ll need to get in quick when entries go on sale because, aside from the fact entries are strictly capped at 500, anyone entering the inaugural Transmoto 8-Hour will automatically go in the running to win a new-model Husqvarna*.
*YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A NEW HUSQVARNA
Yep, you heard that right. Simply by entering the 2018 Transmoto 8-Hour at Bright, you will automatically go in the draw to win your choice of any enduro or cross-country model from Husqvarna’s 2018 range. A one-in-500 chance is pretty damn good odds, and somebody’s got to win!
WHAT CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE?
As with previous Transmoto 8-Hour events, there will be a limited number of entries for the Ironman and Pairs classes, but plenty of positions available in the Team class (you’ve got the option of entering as a team of three or four riders).
ENTRY FEES
Entry fees for the Transmoto 2018 Enduro Events remain unchanged for 2018:
- Ironman: $300
- Pairs: $500 ($250 per rider)
- Team (of 3): $675 ($225 per rider)
- Team (of 4): $860 ($215 per rider)
**PRIORITY ENTRIES
Please note that the only way to receive priority entry is by becoming part of the Transmoto Tribe. Because the pool of previous Transmoto event entrants has become so large, the only fair way for us to now offer priority entry into our events is via Transmoto Tribe – our new membership program that gives members exclusive ongoing access to a bunch of awesome benefits and special offers.
So, aside from giving yourself (and your teammates) the best chance of scoring an 8-Hour entry for Bright before the event sells out, joining Transmoto Tribe also entitles you to a Tribe Member Pack (which includes two T-shirts, a sticker pack and a pair of Scott Recoil goggles for the first 100 sign-ups). Plus, anyone who signs up to Tribe by March 30, 2018, will automatically go in the running to win a trip for you and a mate to the 2018 AMA Supercross season finale in Las Vegas, USA, on May 5. A no-brainer, right?!
THE COURSE – WHAT TO EXPECT
If you’ve ridden around the Victorian township of Bright, then you’ll already know how epic the riding terrain is. Surrounded by several Alpine National Parks, ski resorts and wineries, Bright is a popular base for all manner of adventure activities in the region. But what about the course itself at the inaugural Transmoto 8-Hour at Bright? According to Course Director, Dirt2Ride’s Lyndon Heffernan, “It’s shaping up to be a doozy! The 300-acre property is very undulating and lightly timbered, and there’s a great mix of challenging singletrack and flowing grasstrack. No wonder the road this property is situated on is called ‘Happy Valley Road’!,” Heffernan went on to say, before scurrying off to the character-filled Happy Valley Hotel on the Great Alpine Way in nearby Ovens for a meal at its renowned restaurant.
