The 2015 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship continues this weekend with the Glen Helen round. In the 450 class, keep your eyes on GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac (the Hangtown winner), Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson (among others). In the 250 class, we reckon it’ll be a battle between Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin and Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin. Martin went 2-1 to defeat Musquin (1-2) at Hangtown, as the second moto determines the winner in that scenario.

This morning, Transmoto was treated to a few hours at the Cahuilla Creek MX track (situated just out of Temecula, California) with the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team. Jason Anderson, Zach Osborne, Martin Davalos and Christophe Pourcel put down fast laps in preparation for the Glen Helen round of the 2015 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, taking place this weekend. The British round of the 2015 FIM Motocross World Championship, taking place this weekend, marks the start of the middle third of the series, which features some absolutely cracking tracks around Europe. The week after Matterley Basin is Villars Sous Ecot, then onto Maggiora, Teutschenthal, Uddevalla and Kegums, all of which should provide some awesome action and really showcase the MXGP spectacle in the best light. Hopefully at some stage, Ryan Villopoto will re-join the action as the announcement once again come out that’ll he be sitting out this race. Unfortunately, this weekend’s East Coast MX round, which was meant to take place in Maitland, has been postponed. We’ll provide updates when we know when the replacement round will take place.

Props to Australia’s Matthew Phillips, who was able to return to his winning form in Portugal over the weekend, going 1-1 in the Enduro 3 class of the 2015 FIM Enduro World Championship. “It feels great to win both days,” said Phillips. “I felt good all day but on the final enduro test I overcooked the rear brake and nearly threw the win away. It was a close margin of victory but a win is a win. I’m happy.” The EWC will return in Greece on June 6-7.

Jemma Wilson was also able to claim third Overall on Saturday, while Jess Gardiner was able to claim second Overall on Sunday, in the Women’s category of the EWC. Well done, ladies.

The 2015 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship moves to Karoonda in South Australia this weekend, for the fifth and sixth rounds of the series. “It’s the club’s first AORC event; we’ve had a couple of state rounds in previous years which has been pretty successful but this is definitely the first time the club has stepped up to the plate for a national event like this,” said Ariel Motorcycle Club Clerk of Course, Jason Rampling. “We had a small amount of rain last week which dampened the ground, but we had a good soaking on Monday night which has basically put the track in as good a condition as you could ever hope for.” Should be an awesome weekend of racing.

After originally being named as a reserve for the 2015 International Six Days Enduro (to be held in Kosice, Slovakia, from September 7-12), Lachlan Stanford will join Australia’s Senior Trophy team following the withdrawal of Toby Price, due to rally commitments. “Wish I could do everything but there is only one of me and I can’t be in two places at once,” stated Price. Could the Aussie, who finished third Overall in the 2015 Dakar Rally, be about to sign a full-time deal with the international KTM squad? Stay tuned.
