The seventh round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship featured a shakeup in the 450 Class standings as American motocross made its annual visit to legendary RedBud MX for the Red Bull RedBud National. The premier division saw reigning champion and entering point leader Eli Tomac face numerous bouts of adversity aboard his Monster Energy Kawasaki en route to a career-worst 15th-place finish. That opened the door for Team RedBull KTM Factory Racing’s Marvin Musquin to race to his second straight overall victory and seize control of the championship lead by doing so. In the 250 Class, Yamaha’s Aaron Plessinger enjoyed a dominant effort en route to his third overall win of the season, which extended his lead in the championship standings.
