KTM at Transmoto 8-Hour @ Stroud
A brand’s culture and ultimate commercial success is often a direct reflection of the bloke who runs the show. For KTM Motorcycles Australia, that bloke is Jeff Leisk – two-time Mister Motocross champ, Australia’s first successful moto export, and now General Manager for both KTM and Husqvarna in Australia. And as this short video from the recent Transmoto 8-Hour at Stroud indicates, Leisk is still as passionate and hands-on as it gets when it comes to using the bikes he sells, and rubbing shoulders with the customers who buy them. Teamed up with Pro Husky rider Lachy Stanford and two of Jeff’s long-time mates from WA, KTM’s GM evidently had a ball in the challenging conditions and low-key atmosphere at Stroud. And for the record – not that the result mattered much to Leisk or his buddies – Jeff’s “Leisk & Co.” team laid down 16 laps to finish second Outright in the event. Not bad for a Pro, an engine specialist, a former AFL champ and a 50-something-year-old moto legend, all out for a Saturday social and low-pressure crack around an 18km Sunday loop.
