What is expected to be Australia’s biggest supercross event ever is just around the corner! The AUS-X Open will be held this weekend in Sydney, and some of the world’s biggest names in SX and FMX will be battling it out over two nights of heart-stopping entertainment.
The construction of the course is well underway, with the Sydney.com tunnel built and the track nearly finished. The AME Management boys had to jump through so many hoops to convince the venue to let the build the tunnel. The track also has the new 360fly-by shortcut lane around the finish line jump, which riders get to use once in each race.
The greatest motocross rider of all time, Ricky Carmichael, and current AMA superstar, Cooper Webb, have now been added to the already exciting rider line-up. Carmichael will be taking part in a head-to-head match-up with long-time rival, Chad Reed, in a unique one-on-one showdown that has been specifically added to the event’s schedule.
The AUS-X Open will also host the world’s only current FMX Best Trick competition. Riders will be making history, throwing down world-first tricks to compete for their slice of the $150,000 prize pool. The impressive freestyle motocross rider line-up includes Australian riders, Jackson Strong and Rob Adelberg, French riders, Tom Pagés and David Rinaldo, Japan’s Taka Higashino and Libor Podmol of the Czech Republic.
Grab your tickets for Sunday’s event now, as Saturday’s event is already sold out, and get ready to witness an action-packed weekend of heated SX racing and unthinkable FMX tricks.
