EWC: Phillips goes 3-8 in Chile
Australia’s Matt Phillips kicked off his Enduro 3 (E3) title defence over the weekend, going 3-8 at the opening Enduro World Championship (EWC) rounds of 2015, held in Talca, Chile.
Phillips posted a faster KTM Super Test time than anyone else at one hour, 15 minutes and 19 seconds. On Saturday, Phillips was unable to hold off challenges from Husqvarna’s Mathias Bellino and Sherco’s Matti Seistola. After suffering numerous crashes, he was forced to finish in third. On Sunday, the Aussie had a tough day at the office, placing eighth Overall.
He now sits in fourth Overall in the standings on 23 points, behind Aigar Leok (28), Mathias Bellino (33) and Matti Seistola (37).
The 2015 FIM Enduro World Championship will continue in Spain on May 9-10.
