🎥 Dungey Back on Top of the Box
The gate dropped for the final time in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta at Round 8 of the AMA Supercross championship. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s, Ryan Dungey returned to the top of the box with his second victory of the season. Dungey put himself out front on the opening lap. Despite brutal track conditions in Atlanta, Dungey was able to maintain a solid pace out front to lead all 24 laps of the Main Event. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s, Eli Tomac battled through the back from ninth place right up to second place – within four seconds of Dungey. Rocky Mountain KTM’s Blake Baggett earned his first-career podium in the premier class. While Australia’s Chad Reed crash exiting the whoops for the second time of the season, putting him back in seventh place.
Dungey’s second victory of the season puts the three-time champion 25 points ahead of his teammate Musquin in the championship standings as the season hits its halfway point.
