Clinton Moore Wins X-Knights

7 years ago | Photos: RPMTV

Australia’s very own Freestyle Motocross World Champion, Clinton Moore, has done it again by winning the famed Costa Rican X-Knights event for the second year in a row. While representing Australia, Moore competed against world class competitors such as Japan’s Taka Higashino, Spain’s Dany Torres and USA’s Nate Adams. X-Knights is well known for its enormous roaring crowd, selling out the entire National Stadium of San José with 40,000 in attendance.

Freestyle Motocross is a new evolving motorsport which has taken the world by storm in the last 20 years. It involves jumping a motocross dirt bike over 100 feet through the air and performing the best flips and tricks while riding away safely. To be successful, you must dedicate your life to the sport and become an elite athlete. The Bundaberg local is known for his unique and crazy stunts, even naming his signature move ‘The Bundy’ in dedication to his hometown. “Tonight’s competition was really tough. I think The Bundy got me another win here tonight” Moore says moments after receiving his Gold Medal. “It is really windy, which makes it even more dangerous to do these tricks, so I’m grateful all the risk paid off!”

Moore has also won over the Costa Rican fans after his back to back wins, to which he is now referred to as Señor Bundy. “Every fan I see screams out ‘Señor Bundy’ (laughs). Even the crowd chants it when I finish my FMX run, it’s crazy!” Moore is putting his local town of Bundaberg on the map during his worldwide travels. Moore heads back home to his training facility in Bundaberg this week to prepare for the upcoming X-Games and X-Fighters events, which will bring him head to head against the world’s best again. “I’m working on new tricks right now, they are really tough but should be worth all the hard work and time I’ve been putting into them”.
