Strong international line-up for the Manjimup 15,000
Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Brad Anderson now heads a strong International line-up of riders who will head for the timber town of Manjimup, WA, on the June 2-3, in a battle for the 2012 Manjimup 15,000 title. With the 2012 WesTrac Manjimup 15000 International Motocross Spectacular just over a week away, the race for the coveted title is up for grabs with several of the favourites injured.
Crowd favourite, Jay Marmont, has been ruled out with a knee injury, robbing him of the chance to make history by being the only four-time winner of the event. The injury is expected to respond well to rest, so Marmont has opted to skip this event so he can concentrate on defending his National MX title. WA’s own favourite, Louis Calvin, will be another who will be missing this year due to an injury sustained at the recent MX National round at the AJS club.
So far Brad Anderson and Kristian Whatley from the UK, along with Travis Freistat from the US, are confirmed as competing in this year’s event. Also a confirmed starter is Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Kade Mosig. Dirt High Promotions are still in negotiation with other national and international competitors, and they are hopeful of some further signings very soon.
Brad Anderson has had a change of heart and decided to compete at Manjimup rather than head back to Europe to compete in the British MX GP. Now also confirmed is Dylan Long (KTM) who is the current U19 MX Championship leader. Also in is Dean Porter (Suzuki), Luke Davis (High Designs Yamaha) and Cheyne Boyd is almost certain to make the trip west for the event.
