The first of two consecutive races on the South American continent has seen ICEONERACING’s Dean Ferris post a consistent result in Guadalajara Mexico at Round 4 of the FIM Motocross World Championship.

Situated at nearly 1700m above sea-level, the loamy Nicolas España’s race circuit would be challenging to the riders as temperatures soared to close to the 37-degrees.

Ferris grabbed a good start in Moto 1, but then lost a few spots after occupying 10th place and being hounded by Italian Davide Guarneri. Ferris settled down and then came back from 14th spot to secure 12th at the chequered flag.

An even better start in Moto 2 saw Ferris complete the first lap in 8th. He fended off GP regulars Jonathan Barragan and Rui Goncalves for a while but then had to relinquish his top ten spot to them and a charging Kevin Strijbos and Guarneri for 12th position.

“I had two decent starts today from a difficult start position and struggled a bit with my riding in the first moto. I felt my speed was really good in the second moto but then did not have more in the tank towards the end of the moto and lost a top ten result. It’s been a great experience to race in Mexico and am looking forward to Brazil next week,” explained the Australian.

Round 5 of the 16-round series takes place at the Beto Carreiro MX Park in Penha – Brazil.
