8-Hour @ Dargo: On Sale This Week!

7 years ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Jarrad Duffy

After last year’s successful running of the inaugural Transmoto 8-Hour in Victoria, Dargo is back on our race calendar for 2017; for the second annual instalment of the Transmoto 8-Hour, powered by KTM.
As we announced in early July, this year’s Victoria-based Transmoto 8-Hour will take place on October 28-29. And we can now confirm that entries will go on sale this Wednesday, September 6. Yep, this week!
In the meantime, here are some FAQs we’ve answered to help you and your mates get amped and prepared…

NEW FOR 2017: TEAM (of 3)

Last year, we offered Ironman, Pairs and Team (of 4) classes for Dargo.
And for 2017, due to popular demand, we have also opened up a Team (of 3) class. There will be a strictly limited number of entries for the Ironman and Pairs classes, but plenty of positions available in the Team (of 3) and Team (of 4) classes. And to increase your chances of taking home a trophy, both Team classes will also have ‘Team Categories’, based on gender and age.

WHAT ABOUT PRE OR PRIORITY ENTRIES?

We only offer reserved/guaranteed entries to event sponsors. An FOC Team (of 3) entry is included in the Silver Sponsorship Package, so please email events@transmoto.com.au if you’d like some information about sponsorship.
As we’ve done in the past, previous Transmoto Enduro Event entrants will be sent a special ‘Priority Entry’ email 24 hours prior to entries going live to the public.

REMINDER: WHAT YOU NEED TO ENTER…

Short of sponsoring the event, the best way to maximise your chances of scoring an entry is to be prepared with all your team members’ details as soon as entries go live. Team Captains should ensure they have the following information on hand for each member of their team, and ready to enter into the online entry form in one hit:

  • Team Name (for Pairs and Teams only)
  • Team Category (for Teams only): Open, Mixed, Young Guns, Wise Wizards, Wonder Women, Media
  • Captain name and email address (for Pairs and Teams only)
  • Rider name(s)
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Age
  • Email address
  • Postal address
  • Phone/mobile number(s)
  • Do you have a current annual MA Licence?
  • If ‘Yes’, provide current MA Licence number and expiry date
  • If ‘No’, $75 will be charged for each rider requiring a Once Event Competition Licence (OECL), and added to the total of the entry fee.
  • Do you have Ambulance Cover? (It is the rider’s responsibility to have current ambulance coverage to ride the event.)
  • T-Shirt size
  • Do you want to buy any Transmoto apparel?

THE 2017 COURSE

According to the Dargo River Inn’s proprietor and track builder, Christian Barrett, “While the loop won’t be as technical as last year’s, it’s still going to be challenging and will feature several new sections. Be prepared for undulating grasstrack, tricky rock gardens, flowing singletrail, big hillclimbs and spooky pine forest sections, all set against the Victorian High Country’s picturesque backdrop.”

PROBLEMS? QUESTIONS?

Send us an email to events@transmoto.com.au and we’ll help you out as soon as possible.
