2013 KTM’s BREAK COVER
With the international launch of the 2013 KTM’s in progress in Italy this week, KTM US has released details on their latest offering. With the EXC range receiving a full overhaul last year, it comes as no surprise that the main updated for 2013 are in the SX-F range.
Based off the Factory Edition 450 built for Ryan Dungey, the new 450SX-F sees a lighter fuel injected engine, which moves to a bore and stroke of 95.0×63.4mm (previously 97.0×60.8mm) and gets updates to the bodywork, frame and suspension. The 2013 model weighs in at 106.2kg (claimed weight, no fluids), 1.2kg less than the 2012 model.
The 350SX-F receives a revamped engine, improved chassis and new bodywork as well as a resonating chamber on the header pipe. While the 250SX-F has an all-new lighter engine, with an updated injection system.
Over in the EXC corner, the main changes come from the KTM 200; receiving a new cylinder head, carburettor jets and electric start.
You can view the technical specifications of the 2013 SX-F and EXC models from the KTM USA website.
We’ll have more details about the entire range early next week when our man on the ground, Ollie Sharp, reports back from the Italian launch.
