Motonomad: Film Premiere A Success

On Thursday, September 11, 300 people crammed into the classic art deco cinema at Cremorne’s Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace for the world big-screen premiere of Adam Riemann’s epic film, Motonomad (The Directors’s Cut) – a 7000km extreme off-road mission from the grassy hills of Austria to the political turmoil of the Middle East aboard a couple of KTM 500EXCs. Dirt bike industry members and Pro off-road and desert racers, including KTM Desert Racing Team riders, Toby Price and Ben Grabham, and CDR Yamaha’s Chris Hollis, were present at the event.

“Much like the iconic 1971 motorcycle documentary, On Any Sunday, or Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman’s Long Way Around/Down epics since, Motonomad‘s sheer audacity and spirit of adventure promises to bring in mainstream appeal,” says Transmoto‘s Managing Editor, Andy Wigan. “Incredibly, Motonomad was created without a support crew, without ‘fixers’ to assist with border crossings, and without a production posse back home. This 90-minute feature film was filmed, edited, narrated and produced entirely by the two guys who also feature in it; two Australian dirt bike enthusiasts who carried their camera gear on their backs through some of the most extreme and politically charged terrain on the planet. It’s a landmark film, which is why Transmoto got behind Motology’s Adam Riemann to make this big-screen premiere a reality. And it was great to see how many cinema-goers kicked on across the road for a few beers and to meet Adam and Mark Portbury, plus a bunch of Pro off-road racers who attended the premiere,” Wigan went on to say.
