Jordi Tixier’s MX2 World Title Hopes

Red Bull KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings has had surgery on his fractured femur (as detailed in this week’s MXGP Insider column) and has since posted via his social networks that “it’s not over till it’s over”. The man now standing in the way of Herlings securing his third consecutive MX2 World title is his teammate, Jordi Tixier. At the moment, Jordi Tixier sits 145 points behind Herlings in the championship standings with eight motos remaining, meaning he needs to score 18.25 points every race to secure the title. Or in real-terms, third or better in every race will be enough.

Take a look at this interview that Transmoto‘s Andy Wigan did with the Frenchman at last year’s international KTM launch, held on the Italian island of Sardinia.

Do you think Tixier can step up and ride confidently enough to claim the 2014 MX2 crown? Give us your opinion in the comments section below…
