AORC: Milner on top at Boyland

The 2014 Yamaha Australian Off Road Championship (AORC) arrived at Boyland, Qld for the third and fourth rounds of this year’s series over the Easter long weekend.

Day 1

In the E1 division, Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team’s Scott Keegan stole first Overall ahead of Active8 Yamaha’s Tom McCormack and KTM Enduro Racing Team’s Peter Boyle.

The E2 class saw current Australian champ, CDR Yamaha’s Daniel Milner take the win over KTM Enduro Racing Team’s Toby Price and Husaberg-mounted Geoff Braico.

Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team’s Glenn Kearney took home the E3 class victory ahead of Husaberg-mounted Jarrod Bewley Active8 Yamaha’s Stefan Granquist.

The newly formed Transmoto 19 & Under class saw KTM-mounted Daniel Sanders continue to dominate and take the win, over a pair of talented up and comers in Tom Mason (KTM) and Broc Grabham (KTM).

In the Women’s class, on her return from Europe only 10 hours prior, Sherco’s Jess Gardiner claimed the Overall win 40 seconds ahead of Tayla Jones (KTM) and Jemma Wilson (Yamaha).

Mike Shearer showed that he still has the goods to take the win in the Masters class over Trent Lean and Geoff Ballard, while the Vets class saw Damian Smith defeat Kirk Hutton and Rowan Pumpa.

Day 2

In the E1 class, McCormack claimed his second win of the year, finishing 8 seconds ahead of Boyle and 24 seconds ahead of Keegan.

The E2 class saw Milner once again take the top step of the podium, defeating Price and Active8 Yamaha’s Josh Green.  

In the E3 division, Kearney scored the win ahead of Bewley and Granquist.

The Transmoto 19 & Under class saw Sanders take first again, this time over Grabham and then Mason.

In the Women’s, it was Gardiner who showed no signs of jet lag, coming out on top ahead of Wilson and Jones.

In the Masters, the Geoff Ballard of old came out to play, defeating Lean and Shearer. Smith continued to dominate the Vets class, again taking the Overall ahead of Hutton and Pumpa.

The fifth and sixth rounds of the 2014 Yamaha Australian Off Road Championship (AORC) will take place at Corner Inlet, Vic on May 3-4.
