Rory Mead’s second win of the season at Snowshoe

The Snowshoe GNCC was expected to be one of America’s toughest races, and it’s safe to say the course didn’t disappoint. When it came to the rough and technical terrain, New Zealand’s Rory Mead topped field and make it look easy. Mead took home his second win of the season at Round 8 of the GNCC series, but it wasn’t without a fight from Kailub Russell. Russell led the early stages of Lap 1 but Mead used his extensive technical skills to pull a substantial lead on Russell and the rest of the field early on.

Paul Whibley landed the third spot on the XC1 class podium but it was XC2′s Jason Thomas who took home third overall on time adjustment by only one-tenth of a second over Whibley. Nick Fahringer put in a season-best fourth place finish, just ahead of Bobby Prochnan, who made his first-ever GNCC appearance as a guest rider for WMR/KTM.
