AMASX – Matt Moss finishes sixth at Salt Lake City
JDR/J-Star/KTM rider Matt Moss earned an impressive 6th place result in the AMA West Supercross Lites class at the Salt Lake City Supercross after struggling with a sore wrist from a crash the week before.
Moss took it easy during the afternoon qualifiers to ensure that his wrist would hold up for the night show. He eventually qualified 8th fastest and was placed in the first heat.
He nailed the holeshot in his heat race but unfortunately was riding a little tight due to his sore wrist and he dropped to 3rd place. He held on to that position for the remaining laps to qualify into the main event.
In the main event, Moss got off to another great start and was sitting in 5th by the end of the first lap. He had a few struggles in the opening laps and hit tuff blocks which dropped him to 8th. Once recovered, he was able to ride a smooth and consistent pace and was able to move up to 6th by the end of the race. Moss now sits in 6th place in the overall point standings heading to the final round.
